Custom Armature Shape: Blender 3D 2.49


 
  


1.  Add an Armature.

Instructions:
  • Space Bar >> Add >> Armature
or
  • User Preference menu >> Add >> Armature
  
  
2.  Create a custom shape for your armature.
       
Instructions:
  • Add new object:
  • Object Mode:
Space bar >> Add >> Mesh  >> Cylinder
or
User Preference menu >> Add >> Mesh >> Cylinder
  • Edit Mode:
Shape it into a ring


  
3.  Select Armature  -- Pose Mode

Instructions:
  • 3D View menu >> Mode box >> Pose Mode

   
4.  Enable Shapes button

Instructions:
  • Buttons Window menu >> Editing (F9)
  • Armature tab >> Display Options >> Shapes button

  
5.  Replace default Armature shape with custom shape.

Instructions:
  • Buttons Window menu >> Editing (F9)
  • Armature Bones tab >> Selected Bones
  • OB:  Enter the name of  your custom shape.
