Class BL_ActionActuator -- Blender Game Engine 2.49b

setChannel

setChannel(name, loc, size, quat)

Note:
An armature is made of bone(s).  By default, the 1st bone is named "Bone", 2nd is named "Bone.001", 3rd is named "Bone.002", etc.  The channel name is the name of the bone.

Sets the bone channel.

name:     name of the bone
Type:  string

loc:        location of bone.  X, Y and Z.  Resting position of bone = [0.0, 0.0, 0.0]
Type:   list [ lx, ly, lz]
    ie [ 0.0, 0.0, 0.0]

size:      scale of the bone.  X, Y and Z.  Starting scale is [1.0, 1.0, 1.0]
Type:  list [sX, sY, sZ]
   ie [ 1.0, 1.0, 1.0]

quat:    rotation of bone in Quaternion form
Type:  list [qW, qX, qY, qZ]
   examples:  [ 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0]  = starting rotation
     [0.707, 0.0, 0.0, 0.707] = rotate 90 degrees around z-axis

Sample Code

# get the controller
controller = GameLogic.getCurrentController()

# get the actuator attached to controller named Walk
act = controller.actuators["Walk"]

# rotate Bone.002  90 degrees around z-axis
act.setChannel("Bone.002", [ 0.0, 0.0, 0.0], [ 1.0, 1.0, 1.0], [0.707, 0.0, 0.0, 0.707] )

Game developers can use the game engine to create casual video games, first and third person shooters, role playing games, racing simulations and more. The game engine can be used to make both 2D games and 3D games.  Beginning game developers will only need basic knowledge of game design and programming to create rich and complex game models with photo realistic textures to add detail to the graphics of the video game.  Today's games need more than good looking low polygon game models.  Use normal maps and photo realistic textures to create high quality game models.
