7.  Center the object center between the two remaining vertices.

Instructions:
  • Plane (2D outline) selected.  Object mode.
  • 3D View menu >> Object >> Transform >> Center New
   



    
8.  Apply Scale and Rotation to the road shape and track path

Note:
  • While you don't have to, you'll get the best results if the both the road shape and track path have the same scale and orientation.

Instructions:
  • Road shape selected.  Object mode.
Ctrl + A key >> Scale and Rotation to ObData
or
3D View menu >> Object >> Clear/Apply >> Apply Scale/Rotation to ObData

  • Path selected.  Object mode.
Ctrl + A key >> Scale and Rotation to ObData
or
3D View menu >> Object >> Clear/Apply >> Apply Scale/Rotation to ObData

   



   
9.  Parent road shape to track path.  Use Follow Path.

Instructions:
  • Parent road shape to track path
    Select Road Shape 1st. 
    Hold Shift Key Down.
    Select Path 2nd.
    (Both Road Shape and Path selected)
  • Use Follow Path
    Ctrl P >> Follow Path
    or
    3D View menu >> Object >> Parent >> Make Parent >> Follow Path
